Ireland to take on South Africa in first Test

Ireland to tour South Africa next summer

Ireland will take on World champions South Africa in a two-match tour next summer, with the fixtures confirmed today by the South African Rugby Union.

The first Test will be played at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on 6 July 2024, with the second Test to be played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on 13 July 2024.

It will be the first time that Ireland have toured South Africa since 2016, when they lost the three-match series 2-1.

South Africa are the current World champions, having beaten England in the final of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Ireland are ranked fourth in the world, and will be looking to make a statement against the Springboks next summer.

Tickets for the two Tests will go on sale on Friday, 1 December 2023.
