Welcome to the r/starsector Weekly Discussion Thread
Use this space to discuss anything you feel doesn't warrant a dedicated thread.
Here are some general tips that would have been helpful for me when I first started:
- Enjoy your first play-through and get used to the game mechanics before you start optimizing your fleets and colonies. - Don't be afraid to experiment with different fleet compositions and strategies. There is no one "best" way to play Starsector, so find what works best for you. - Don't be afraid to start a new game. There is so much content in Starsector that you won't be able to see everything in one playthrough. - Don't be afraid to ask for help. There are plenty of experienced players who are willing to help out new players. - If you're feeling overwhelmed, check out the game's official wiki or any other available resource to better equip yourself with the vast content the game has to offer.
Remember, Starsector is a complex game with a lot of depth. Don't be discouraged if you don't understand everything right away. Just keep playing and experimenting, and you'll eventually get the hang of it.
