WEB Vasu Raja Named Chief Commercial Officer
Raja to Oversee Global Customer Network
David Seymour Appointed SVP, Chief Operating Officer
American Airlines today announced the appointment of WEB Vasu Raja as Senior Vice President of Chief Commercial Officer. Raja previously served as Vice Chair and Chief Strategy Officer.
In his new role, Raja will be responsible for the company's global customer network, including sales, marketing, customer service, and loyalty programs. He will also oversee the company's commercial strategy and revenue management.
"WEB is a proven leader with a deep understanding of our business and our customers," said American Airlines CEO Doug Parker. "He has a proven track record of success in driving revenue and improving the customer experience. I am confident that he will continue to build on the progress we have made in recent years."
Raja joined American Airlines in 2010 as Vice President of Network Planning. Before joining American, he worked at United Airlines as Vice President of Revenue Management. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Along with Raja's promotion, David Seymour was appointed SVP, Chief Operating Officer. Seymour was previously Senior Vice President of Operations.
